The Challenge
People will shop online for almost anything, including a new home. Unfortunately, many of Clayton Homes’ independent home retailers had outdated websites that couldn’t display their current inventory or collect contact information for interested buyers. The Clayton team wanted a custom CMS purpose-built for manufactured home dealers.
The new CMS needed to be easy to use, and it had to integrate with Clayton’s inventory API, allowing independent dealers to add inventory and assets (photos, 3D tours, floorplans, etc.) with a click of a button.
Our Solution
We started work on the new CMS with detailed wireframes, outlining how Clayton’s independent retailers would use the backend of the website. With these wireframes, our team worked to simplify the process for adding new inventory and changing content, giving users the freedom to make their own updates without having to look for outside help.
The Results
Custom App Development
After finalizing the design with the Clayton team, our programmers got to work developing what would become known as the PowerSlide CMS. Built in React, PowerSlide is a fast, secure, and easy-to-update browser-based application. There’s nothing to install and no need to have any coding knowledge to use it.
Today, the PowerSlide CMS is live, and we’ve built websites on it for dozens of Clayton’s independent retailers. The frontend of the website is flexible enough to allow each site to have its own custom design, while the backend is simple enough for anyone to use.
